CEE Legal Matters (CEELM) has announced its shortlist for the CEE Deals of the Year Awards – and three Lex Adria members feature on it.

To start with, our member from Bulgaria, Penkov, Markov & Partners, was picked out by CEELM for its role in representing certain shareholders on the sell-side of BioIVT’s acquisition of Fidelis Research.

Further, our partner firm from Slovenia, Ulčar & Partners, got to the shortlist in Serbia for its major role in Ivicom Energy’s EUR 155 million financing for Krivaca Power Plant. In that matter, Ulčar & Partners acted as lead legal counsel for the borrower (Ivicom Energy) and sponsors (MK Group and Alfi Green Energy Fund).

Finally, our member covering Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Doklestic Repic & Gajin (DRG), has been shortlisted for the award in two jurisdictions, making it one of only a few firms with such recognition.

In Serbia, DRG made the shortlist for the same deal as Ulčar & Partners, by acting for Nordex Energy (turbine supplier/installer).

Further, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, CEELM picked out DRG’s assistance in BNBM’s joint venture with coal mine and thermal power plant Ugljevik, one of the biggest investments in that country in recent years. On that deal, DRG  worked together with Shihui Law Firm from China.

Launched in 2017, the CEE Deals of the Year Awards recognize the largest and most important deals in Central and Eastern Europe. This year’s Deal of the Year Awards Banquet will be held in Istanbul on April 25.

We extend our congratulations to all law firms shortlisted for the awards and keep fingers crossed for the shortlisted Lex Adria members!
